Big announcement to all Fujifilm users that they will be joining the sigma fun club. Just-in as sigma launches their three APS-C lenses which are made available for the Fujifilm X mount, the 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, the 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, and the 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. One other great news is that these lenses can be used with other Mounts like the Sony E-mount, Canon EF-M mount, Micro Four Thirds mount, and L-Mount. The three lenses have some likable features in common, including a stepping motor for what Sigma claims results in smooth, quiet, and “excellent” performance as well as a nine-bladed aperture diaphragm.
This video review takes a first look at the new lenses and the sort of performance and image quality you will be able to expect from them.
Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this excellent video overview takes a first look at the new Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses for Fujifilm X Series users or other mounts users.
Some of the great features of these lenses are worth spending your money on as they’re built to fit all conditions; All three lenses use Sigma’s “Super Multi-Layer Coating” that it says reduces flare and ghosting to help produce sharp and high contrast images even in backlit environments. The three lenses also have a mount that Sigma says is dust and splash-resistant.
There is no doubt, the launch of Sigma on Fujifilm is quite exciting, although it was not categorically stated by Sigma’s press materials as to the cost of the three lenses at the time of publication. however, the widespread price for the lenses is between 16mm f/1.4 $374, the 30mm f/1.4 $264, and the 56mm f/1.4 $404.
Also in one of their announcements, it was gathered that the previously appeared APS-C Sony E mount and Canon EOS M mount cameras have generally received quite good reviews, which will see them make their way back by April 2022.
