Yesterday, the company 7artisans announced a new 35mm f/0.95 manual focus lens for mirrorless APS-C sensor and Micro Four Third cameras, all for just $255.
The lens is said to have mount options for Canon M, Nikon Z, Sony E, Fujifilm X and the regular MFT mounts. The lens consists of 11 elements divided into 8 groups, has an aperture range of f/0.95 – 16, and has a minimum focusing distance of 14.5 inches. It also has a declicked aperture ring.
There’s no word on whether the element has any special coating so its unclear how the lens will handle flaring and ghosting but according to PetaPixel, based on their tests of previous 7artisans lens (the 7artisans 50mm f/1.1), the lenses provide great quality images despite the price.
Below is a close of the lens;
The 35mm f/0.95 is currently available for pre-order here and will begin shipping at the end of November.
