The maiden edition of the Business of Photography Conference has come and gone and it was a huge success and we are most grateful to all our partners that put in work to see the realization of the project.
The Imaging industry in Nigeria has seen much change in the recent decade and more is coming, the sky isn’t the limit anyhow, it’s the take off point and tapping into the coming wave should serve as a way not just for personal revenue generation but Revenue generation on a national scale. The art industry in Nigeria is one that has been ignored for far too long by the government.
Rightly put by the founder and curator of the conference, Kola Oshalusi;” The Photography Industry is a multi billion naira industry that is waiting to be cultivated and groomed”. A lot can happen but the key to unlocking this lot is partnership, merger between the public and private sector to create revenue that would in turn create jobs for thousands of people.
The BOP conference is aimed at seeking ways to tap into the power house of the industry and blow off the roof limiting the greatness that can be achieved. We know our strengths and our weaknesses alike and we look forward to bringing an even bigger package in subsequent meetings in the nearest future.
