Have you always wondered why you are not getting jobs as a photographer, do you wish you document better images and become a better photographer? As a photographer do you want better images? Then this piece is for you.

The best thing about photography is that image captured becomes a memory forever, so it helps keep track of events and time. Hence, as a young photographer or photography enthusiast that wants to break even as a photographer you have to study, experiment, and understand composition as a photographer.

TIPS ON BECOMING A BETTER PHOTOGRAPHER

  • LEARN THE BASICS: Young photographers that want to start a career in photography over time believe taking pictures is just about clicking the shutter and getting images. As a photographer you must first learn the technical part of photography, which includes understanding lighting, learning camera settings ( ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed), composition and form, understanding post-production, etc. The primary aim for young photographers or anybody considering starting a career in photography is to understand the basics of photography to become a better photographer.
  • PICK A GENRE AND BE GOOD AT IT: There’s quite a number of genres in photography which includes aerial photography, landscape photography, fashion editorial, portraiture, etc. It is best to pick an area of subject and thoroughly immerse yourself into it and over time have shoots aligned to your genre. This is very important to your growth as a photographer since it will help you learn the area of subject like the back of your hand. The more you become familiar with a particular genre, the better you become at that particular genre.
  • STUDY THE WORK OF OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS: Photographers should always have the spirit of wanting to learn from photographers that are doing better in any area of photography that they know they have issues with. Studying their composition and everything they put in to achieve such beautiful images.
  • BE OPEN TO IDEAS: Photographers should be open to ideas from other creatives to achieve some particular images. They should also have listening ears and not be static but dynamic to the approach to achieve certain projects and get some desired images.
