- INTRODUCTION;
My name is Ramsey Ariguzor the Creative Director of BIGBEE PHOTOGRAPHY. I’m based out of Lagos Nigeria and currently pursuing a degree at the University of Lagos.
- HOW WAS GROWING UP;
Well, I’d say growing up for me was exactly eventful. I grew up as an average citizen in Lagos and that’s about it. I was no Einstein and to make I worse, I still did bad in sports but still growing was good.
I was very picky with people I surrounded myself with. I didn’t like excessive company. I argued a lot I guess it was caused by me reading a lot of newspapers a home.
- WHAT’S YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND;
I went to good schools I went to lots of schools while growing up, went to a catholic school, went to an international school based in Nigeria and I graduated from COMMAND SECONDARY SCHOOL, IPAJA. Right now, I am chasing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- HOW DID YOU START PHOTOGRAPHY;
I started photography using the Gionee P8W smartphone to take pictures of mother nature and everything that looked nice. I remember using that phone to make photographs on my friend’s matriculation day and I got paid, this was the starting point professionally for me. Months later, I was supposed to embark on a trip to Dubai with my parents but I stayed back and told them to use my ticket fare to get me a camera and they got me a CANON 4000D and thus my story to this day begun.
- OUTSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY, WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBY;
I am pretty sure photography wasn’t my hobby I was more interested in acting and cooking, I play basketball back then till now but then I think I am rusty.
- WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU PRACTICE;
I will call myself a conceptual or lifestyle photographer but as well I do other kind of photography as well I believe the term; conceptual covers all other kinds of photography that I am.
- WHERE/WHO DO I DRAW MY INSPIRATION FROM;
I draw my inspiration from my immediate environment. I am a very cautious person, I look around a lot and listen to a lot of music as well and then, there’s LEXONART PHOTOGRAPHY.
- WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU FACE AND WHAT STEPS DO YOU TAKE IN OVERCOMING THESE CHALLENGES?
Financial challenges are a definite at the start of almost every career. Balancing my private life with photography, education and a somewhat active social life has been trying but I have great friends who understand me and with regards the financial aspect; I can still rely on loved ones who understand that I love what I do.

Whatever your challenge, know that it’s just the darkness in the tunnel, there’s light straight ahead and the darkness is just a test to qualify you for the light ahead.
