Blackmagic Design has launched an app for shooting video on iPhone.
The company is known for its rich history, one of which is building the video editing software, DaVinci Resolve. The free app lets you take full control, giving you quick and easy access to settings such as shutter speed, ISO, frame rate and white balance.
The app takes up only 37MB of phone storage, giving you enough space to view and store your footage. Display settings or data such as histogram, focus peaking e.t.c can all be hidden if they occupy the screen.
Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design, says the app is “a truly revolutionary workflow for creating feature film quality content using an iPhone.”
Creators are able to sync footages directly with the app, collaborate, and share media with fellow video editors anywhere in the world, courtesy of Blackmagic Cloud support. Footages can be stored on photos app or even external Solid-State Drives.
The Blackmagic Camera requires an iPhone XR or later running iOS 16 or later, to perform. It is now available on the App store and is totally free.
