Victor Adewale is a documentary photographer based in Lagos, Nigeria. He began his journey as a writer with a deep interest in literature and music, which since 2017 has also translated into a passion for photography. He is mainly interested in using photography and film to translate his experience and worldview into relatable bits. His deepest source of inspiration stems from his beginning as a writer.
He is a graduate of philosophy (B.A) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He has worked as a photographer in literary organisations, and music establishments and most recently with the Lagos state waste Management Authority as a Documentary Photojournalist.
He is currently freelancing and documenting the daily aesthetics of Lagos, especially as it concerns the relationship between humans and waste management.
He has worked as a Photography Consultant since 2017 and in 2020 his work was featured in ART X LAGOS: New Nigerian Studios. His work is human-centred, introspective, and reflective of his community, social realities, and environmental issues. Most recently he has been focusing on topics such as mental health, gender and sexuality.
