As the new Canon EOS R5 launched a couple of minutes ago, so did Peter Mckinnon’s review go up. Peter McKinnon has released his hands-on review of the brand new Canon EOS R5 and R6 and from all indications, Canon delivered well on their promise.
We here at BOP have been closely following the development story of the EOS R5 and R6 from when they were first rumored to exist in late 2018. We reported every speculation, report, and confirmed leaks on both cameras, so to have all the capabilities pushed on by the company to actually be true is an outstanding feat by Canon and they deserve the applause.
A couple of pointers from his review;
- Very quiet mechanical shutter and completely silent electronic shutter
- The camera does shoot 8K 24fps, 4K 120 fps, RAW, C-log footage
- Uses popular Canon LPE6 battery (New software integration makes the battery last longer)
- Dual Card Slots; CFExpress and SD Card slots
