Yes, I am a Marvel Fan, I loved ‘The Marvels”… Let’s move on.
DJI is back with their release spree and asides the RS4 and RS4 Pro that just came out, they’ve also released the brand new DJI Avata 2, their entry level FPV drone and its come with all new bells and whistles.
Before we discuss the possibilities and if this drone is for you, let’s get hardware specs out of the way;
- 12 MP camera with 1/1.3-inch optical format sensor and 155° ultra-wide-angle FoV
- 4K/60 FPS videos with HDR enabled
- 10-bit D-Log M support
- 23-minute flight times
- DJI O4 video transmission support (13 km range, 24 ms latency, 1080p/100 FPS image quality with 60 Mbps bitrate)
- 46 GB storage (90 minutes of 1080p/60fps video)
The original Avata was a beautiful piece of machinery. It made entry level FPV flying incredible with the motion controller and propeller guards and now, the Avata 2 takes that a step further with upgraded sensors that make flying safer and an intuitive google that makes controlling the drone easier.
With regards pricing, the new Avata 2 starts at $999 for the beginners combo that features just the drone, the googles, a battery and motion controller. For $200 extra, you get extra batteries and extra propellers. It’s still unclear if the Avata 2 works with the original DJI FPV controller but going off the fact that the original Avata did, I’m guessing it should.
