Ogundipe Ayomide Isaac, popularly known as Haywhyclicks, is a creative and portrait photographer based in Ibadan, Nigeria. He’s currently a 500-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. He believes that the world is constantly evolving, and as photographers, you should always create.

  • KINDLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF.

I am Ogundipe Ayomide Isaac, a creative and portrait Photographer popularly known as HaywhyClicks. I’m based in Ibadan and a  500L student at the Federal university of Agriculture Abeokuta.

  • HOW DID YOU GET INTO PHOTOGRAPHY?

Well, I fell in love with photography in 100L when my friend (JOMIGRAPHY) brought his camera, and I used it, so he taught me the basics and as a fast learner, it wasn’t really hard for me to understand. Since then, I’ve been doing photography.

  • WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHER?

I actually didn’t plan on being a mobile Photographer, but because I couldn’t afford a camera, then, I started taking pictures with my phone, then discovered mobile photography was a thing. So I went online, took courses downloaded tons and loads of YouTube videos.

  • HOW DO YOU APPROACH COMPOSING YOUR IMAGES WHEN SHOOTING WITH A MOBILE DEVICE?

Putting on my grid helps me compose my images well using the Rule of third and also with the use of my eyes.

  • WHICH MOBILE APPS OR EDITING TOOLS DO YOU USE TO ENHANCE YOUR PHOTOS?

For colour grading (Lightroom mobile, Snapseed) For Retouching (Airbrush) for manipulation (PicsArt)

  • WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TAKE BETTER PHOTOS WITH THEIR MOBILE DEVICE?

I’ll advise them to seize every opportunity to learn, explore and try out new things. Challenge yourself every day to let your next work be better than the previous works, collaborate with people, and have a mentor/ someone you look up to.

  • WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE FOR YOU BETWEEN MOBILE AND THE USE OF A CAMERA?

Well, I’ll say there’s not much difference cause it’s the skills that matter. There are lots of mobile photographers out there that are better than people who own a camera,  but getting a camera makes you look more professional.

  • HOW WILL YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?

I’ll say creative and portrait photography.

  • WHERE/WHO DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?

Where: Basically from Movies, Cartoons. Who: Jordi koalitic, Amazing Klef

  • WHAT MAKES A GOOD PICTURE STAND OUT FROM THE AVERAGE?

Understanding the rules of photography (Compositions and all) and applying them

  • WHOSE WORK HAS INFLUENCED YOU MOST?

    Jordi koalitic

  • HOW DO YOU HANDLE IMAGE DELIVERY, AND DO YOU HAVE A QUICK TURNAROUND TIME?

I try my possible best to deliver fast because for me my clients come before anything, I schedule the date the clients get their pictures to upload the images to Google drive and send them the link on the specified date.

  • HOW DO YOU WORK WITH CLIENTS TO UNDERSTAND THEIR VISION AND PREFERENCES FOR A PHOTOSHOOT?

Basically, I like being booked a few days or a week before the photo shoot so as to connect with my clients. For me, I just don’t feel it’s just coming to do a shoot, and that’s the end; I engage with my clients to know how they feel and connect with them. Some clients are Jovial while some are very shy so I tend to converse with them so that they are always free around me, then the day of the shoot comes, and it’s always lively, trying my possible best to make them smile and at the end of the day, I achieve it.

  • HOW DO YOU STAY CURRENT WITH THE LATEST PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGY?
  • Daily learning, I still watch YouTube tutorials to date. If any gadget/Phone is being released, I go online and check/watch reviews about them.
  • WHERE DO YOU SEE PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE IMAGING INDUSTRY IN THE COMING YEARS?    The world is evolving, most especially the Mobile phone industry. A time will come when Photographers won’t need to carry heavy backpacks, just their phones to take pictures.
  • ANY LAST WORDS?
  • “DON’T STOP CREATING”.
