Fashion is Clothes come alive, its a form of communication that has been known to man for over a millennial, from the days of animal skin to the cotton woven fabrics of the 21st century, fashion has related class, societal stature and has commanded respect for generation.
The Arise Fashion Week held in Lagos Nigeria was no different, Designers from countries over poured in to speak the universal language of clothes and yes, We listened. Its was more a situation of; Lights, Runway, Action. With designers like Ozwald Boateng, Malcom and Christiaan (klukcgdt), House of Divas, Orapeleng Module Style Avenue, Kenneth Ize and many more; there was a fashion waterfall and it poured beauty.
The Fashion Industry in Nigeria has recently been getting the global attention it deserves with design initiatives like Orange Couture putting the country on the the global map, its beyond safe to say Nigeria is becoming a fashion giant to reckon with but our wax prints from companies like DAVIVA and ABC WAX are everything perfect and beyond.
Fashion is an every evolving art and I believe that Nigerian artist are getting as fluid as the times require to match things to come. We only can watch and hope for the best.
