Fujifilm and Disney have unveiled an ultra-rare limited-edition camera that will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company since its inception in October 1923. The camera, called the Fujifilm X100V “Disney 100” Edition, will be a premium compact camera that will feature a silver body with a Mickey Mouse logo and a leather case with a Disney 100 emblem.
The Fujifilm X100V “Disney 100” Edition is the same as Fuji’s initial X100V, except for a few changes and will be a collector’s item, as there will only have 100 units available worldwide, having the top plate decorated with a unique serial number. The leatherette of the camera is adorned with famous characters like the Mickey Mouse, Goof, Donald Duck.
It comes in a hand-crafted unique wooden box which is a host to many Disney-themed accessories for the camera: a leather case, metal thumb rest and a canvas strap.
The “Fujifilm X100V Disney and Friends Collection,” as officially known, was released to coincide with the 55th anniversary of Fuji Photographic Equipment Company.
This is not the first time Disney is partnering with a photography company. In March, Lecia announced a special-edition Q2 that also bears a unique Disney wrap to celebrate “100 Years of Wonder.”
The camera will only be available in Hong Kong and part of its sales proceeds will be donated to the Hong Kong Community Chest to support its programs for children and young people. The set is available to pre-order for HK$ 14,999 (about $1,920) from only three Fujifilm stores in Honk Kong: The Fujifilm Studio Building; The Broadway, Harbor City Branch; The Logon, Harbor City Branch. There will be sold here until supplies run out. The company plans to deliver finished collector sets starting from July 29.
