There are very few lenses that boost apertures that go below f/1.2 and now, according to Fuji Rumors, Fujifilm has filed patents that show the company is planning to make 3 primes, all with large f-stops of f/1.
According to Fuji Rumors, Fujifilm has been working on putting out f/1.0 lenses for a while but for some reason hasn’t been able to put out the lenses. A Fujifilm XF50mm f/1.0 lens was announced back in May with the launch of the X-T4 and the price was set a relatively inexpensive $1,500. Now patents for an XF30mm, XF33mm, and XF35mm, all with f/1.0 aperture have been discovered which may mean the company has plans on towing that line sometime in the future.
Outside of the patents, there’s no real information on the lenses and since companies file patents all the time, there’s no assurance these lenses will ever see the sun’s light or rest on the mount of a camera but we can hope. To see the full patents, click here.
