While the R5 is a good camera, there are a few questions about it. One such question is, is the electronic shutter really useful in scenarios like bird photography or sport?
The Canon EOS R5 electric shutter mode has a great specification sheet with 20 fps and is silent. It begs one question: whether it creates the rolling shutter effect. The rolling shutter effect occurs where the shutter opening and closing causes the bending of straight lines in the scene due to the pace of movement. This is mostly associated with video. The rolling shutter effect is most likely to be experienced in some scenarios in fast-paced photography, like wildlife or sports with the R5 shooting at 20 fps in electronic shutter mode. In the video below, expert bird photographer, Jan Wegener shows that it happens but not very common.
