Advancing the Nigerian and African photography narrative has always been at the soul of why we started the Business of Photography Networks in 2018 and this year, in partnership with the folks at Africa Soft Power, we’d be hosting a photography Masterclass taught by our convener; Kola Oshalusi.
The Africa Soft Power summit holding in Kigali Rwanda right now is an Africa led movement focused on “how Africa can optimize its creative industries, knowledge economy, and harness its soft power effectively to propel itself forward, while championing the inclusion of African and diasporan voices in global discourse.”
The summit hopes to transform Africa’s trajectory by creating a positive African narrative whilst also championing the inclusion of black voices in global discourse and demonstrating that by communicating our narratives, we (Africans) can directly impact the global perception of Africa.
The team at A.S.P and B.O.P are partnering with Illume Creative Studios to bring a photo masterclass taught by Kola Oshalusi, (Convener of the Business of Photography Conference and Lead Creative at Insigna Media) and Philippe Nyirimihigo, (Co-Founder of Illume Creative Studio and Afrikball). The masterclass will focus on the creative aspect as well as the rudiments to the business of photography to ensure that photographers are equipped with the mental tools to run efficient businesses and make profit.
To register for the masterclass, CLICK HERE and be sure to follow our social media pages (bopnetworks) and that of the folks at Africa Soft Power (africasoftpower) as well as Illume Creative Studio (eeloom) to get further updates. Registration has already begun and closes tomorrow (Thursday, 25th May, 2023) whilst the Masterclass is scheduled for Friday, 26th May, 2023.
The Africa Soft Power Summit started Tuesday, May 23rd and will run to Saturday, May 27th 2023. See postcard below for more details;
