With the launch of the Canon EOS R5 and R6 just mere days away, another shockwave has been sent through the industry that reveals what a beast of a camera the R5 is going to be when it finally gets into the hands of consumers.
According to reports on Mirrorless Rumors, a leaked photo of the EOS R5 in action shows that the camera can handle 8k Video resolution without the usual overheating problem that accompanies such a task and it does that with the entire sensor, meaning there’s no crop in 8K and 4K at 120fps. According to their source, the anonymous user inserted a 512GB CFExpress Card which was filled in a little over 21 minutes. This is what the source reported;
- There is no crop in either 8K/30p or 4K/120p
- There is no dual recording to both cards when shooting video
- The camera was able to record over 20 minutes of 8K RAW footage continuously without any overheating issues
The buzz around the EOS R5 is more than worthy and with only a couple of days left to the 9th of July, all we can do is wait for Canon to show us what this camera is capable of. The launch of the camera will be live-streamed at 01:00 pm (Nigerian Time), visit the Canon USA site for more details.
