While the R5 will have a 44 Megapixel sensor (It shoots 8K so it has to pack a lot of resolution), the EOS R6 will have a 20 Megapixel full-frame sensor that’ll be able to shoot oversampled 5K and 4K at 60FPS. According to Canon Rumors, below are the specs expected to come with the EOS R6;
- IBIS
- 12fps mechanical and 20fps electronic
- Oversampled 5K, 4K/60p, and 1080/120p video capability
- Canon Log
- 10-bit video shooting
- AutoFocus system identical to the EOS R5
- Dual SD UHS-II slots
- Head and Animal Detection AF
- No top-mounted LCD
- Identical 5M-dot EVF as the EOS R5
The EOS R6 is currently rumored to cost $2,500 and will have a lower quality build as compared to the R5 but all will be confirmed in July when Canon launches the R5 and hopefully the R6.
