There were speculations that it would be released by August 2021, but to our surprise, it came out earlier than speculated. Leica went further to surprise us by making this lens a bit sophisticated with its optical design which contains about 16 elements in 11 groups, combined with an aspherical lens and 3ED (Extra-low Dispersion) that helps to suppress axial magnification chromatic aberration as well as spherical aberration and distortion.
