Sony is the first in the league of the Big Three (Canon, Nikon, Sony) to be announcing something for professionals with the arrival of the all-new 35mm f/1.4 G-Master lens that the company claims will be perfect for both Portraiture and Landscape photographers.
The announcement came yesterday and lifts the total number of lenses for the Sony E-Mount to 59 with 20 of those lenses built for their crop frame lineup and 39 for their full-frame cameras. The new 35mm f/1.4 GM replaces the previous 35mm f/1.4 FE lens and is said to be better built with superior quality.
The new 35mm f/1.4 is made of 14 elements in 10 groups and features an 11-bladed diaphragm. It uses two XA (extreme aspherical) elements to contribute to overall image quality and resolution along with one ED (extra-low dispersion) element along with other optical refinements to effectively suppress chromatic aberration and purple fringing with Sony promising that the lens will offer edge to edge sharpness, even when shooting wide open at f/1.4.

According to Sony the Lens will be available in late February/early March and will cost $1,400. Below is a first impression by Photographer and YouTube educator; Manny Ortiz.
