Vivo has been a leader in the smartphone industry, premiering tech such as the first in-screen fingerprint scanner, the pop up selfie camera and full screen display without bezels and now, Vivo is premiering another new first with the new vivo X50 Pro, a phone that has an inbuilt mini gimbal and promises to shoot the smoothest videos and take the steadiest images.
Right off the back, the X50 Pro is equipped with a rear Quad Camera setup (a 48 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel wide angle camera, a 2x zoom camera for portraits and a 5x zoom for extra close ups/macro) and while this is almost standard on phones in 2020, what sets the X50 apart is the built in mechanical gimbal on the main camera that keeps your shots steady in otherwise ‘unsteady’ situations.
Unlike Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) where the camera uses AI to try and smooth out your footage or Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) where the camera makes micro movements to compensate for hand movement, the full mechanical stabilization system on the X50 Pro makes for better footage that is supposed 3 times better than that of the regular OIS system found in smartphones today and since this is integrated into the phone, it not only works for video but pictures as well.

The X50 Pro currently costs $603 (N245,000) but the price will vary depending on the storage unit of the device you purchase.
