Camera Lens and Accessories maker, Meike has just announced the newest member to their third party lens line up, and its a 50mm f/1.2 lens with designs for Canon EF and RF mounts, Nikon Z mount and Sony E mount and the catch; It will cost only $350.
The Lens which doesn’t possess autofocus capabilities, has 12 elements that are divided into 7 groups and while the elements are coated, there is a notable amount of flaring and chromatic aberration when you start to shoot wide open but that is sort of expected given the price range.
YouTuber Arthur R who got the change to test the lens prior to its announcement states that it’s really fast and the focusing ring does a really good job at aiding the photographer get focus (though it might take some getting use to if you’re just getting into manual focus photography) and of course, there’s the flaring which might not be a problem for some photographers who like a bit of drama in their portraits.
