Have you ever tried shooting in an environment where your camera can’t even detect light by itself and your image comes back to you dark? This can be frustrating most times even after shooting with your ISO, using a wide shutter speed, and even flattening your camera aperture. The truth is there are some mistakes that photographers make when taking lowlight photography. Some of them are:
- Not using a tripod because they don’t want to move around with heavy equipment.
- Low ISOs not very much familiar with shooting at a very high ISO due to the unpleasant noise it will cause to images, but one can bump up your ISO with the intention of balancing it up with shutter speed simultaneously.
- Neglecting Autofocus most times. I prefer shooting on manual mode which most times makes me forget switching back to autofocus on my lens which brings blurry grainy features to my subject.
Shockingly, an amateur can appreciate the power of lowlight photography. Unlike the old traditional cameras, the new and improved cameras and lenses have been structured to shoot under a lowlight. Although one needs to master the techniques to get a better photo.
Below is a tutorial that will guide you step by step on the mistakes you have been making all long. Kai.W in his tutorial explicitly gives solutions to these mistakes to get good photos.
