So, 2023 is rolling on by and there’s quite a lot that has happened in the global photography space, so without wasting much time, here’s a summation of the first quarter of 2023 in photography;
SONY ZV-E1;
The Sony ZV-E1 is a bigger than the ZV-E10 but just under the A7S III. Quite a great place to be stuck in which is why Sony has brandished the camera as the Vloggers Ultimate go to camera. It has a full frame 12 megapixel sensor capable of shooting 4K 120 fps and 240 fps in full HD. The camera is compact enough that it feels like a point and shoot but still packs all of the essentials (and more) so that its able to deliver whatever the creator who holds her (Yes, Cameras identify as female) is able to get the job done. The camera will be available this April and starts at $2,199 (body only).
CANON EOS R8 & R50;
Canon is back in the market and this time with two new mirrorless cameras in form of the R8 and R50.
EOS R8; The R8 is a mirrorless full frame camera that features a 24.2 megapixel full frame sensor that shoots 6fps on mechanically shutter and a whopping 40 fps on electronic shutter (just like the R6 II). It also shoots 4k video at 60fps and FHD at 60fps too. The R8 could be considered a compact R6 II that gives you most of what that offers but cheaper as the R8 comes in at $1,499 (body only)
EOS R50; The R50 is the first APS-C sensored camera released this year by Canon and from the looks of it, Canon is looking to making its entry level cameras as enticing as possible. The R50 features a 24.2 megapixel sensor. a Digic X processor that capable of chunning 4k 30fps video and FHD at 120 fps. The camera cost just $679 so its perfect for vloggers and content creators who want to step over the mobile phone threshold but aren’t looking to make huge financial commitments.
ZHIYUN Molus Bi-Color Lights;
Zhiyun have made a name for themselves in the gimbal community and it seems now, the company is stretching her wings and taking up more of the photo accessories market. last year, the company released the FIVERAY 40 and 100 watt lights and now, the company just debuted two new near pocket sized lights. The MOLUS G60 which is a 60 watt Bi-color lamp and the MOLUS X100, also Bi-color and 100 watts. Both lights feature custom mounts designed by Zhiyun but have adapters that allow them to adapt the Bowen mount that all photographers are accustomed to and have accessories for. The X100 cost $399 while the G60 cost $249.
DJI RS3 Mini;
DJI still holds a monopoly on the drone market but faces stiff competition when it comes to gimbals and other accessories which is why the company debuted a new mini gimbal for cameras in form of the RS 3 Mini. The RS 3 systems came out last year and offered improved stabilization as well as other functions. The RS 3 mini has a max payload of 2kg, 1 kg under that of the standard RS3.
