From all indication, next week is gearing up to be a big one in the imaging industry as Sony is planning to unveil a new concept camera (a7C?), Canon is also gearing up to launch their new Cinema C70 Camera and now, Nikon is joining the mix, with the company gearing up to announce two new lenses.
According to Nikon Rumors, Nikon is getting ready to unveil an all new Z mount 50mm f/1.2 and 14-24mm f/2.8 and both lenses will reportedly bear the S moniker which represents Nikon’s superior line of lenses (like Canon’s L lenses/ Sony’s G Master line). According to Nikon Rumors, the 50mm will feature weather sealing and LED screen to display focusing parameters. Below are available details for both lenses;
Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.2 S lens:
- A massive, solid lens with a lot of glass elements inside
- 17 elements in 15 groups including two ED glass elements and three aspherical elements
- There will be a lot of talk about the focus breathing of this lens
- The lens will have an OLED information panel similar to the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens
- Similar in size to the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S
- Fn button
- Dimensions: 90mm x 150mm
- Weather sealed
Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S lens:
- Smaller and lighter than the F-mount version

- Smooth and silent autofocus, with virtually no focus breathing or focus-shift while zooming
- Almost flat front element
