Earlier this week, Nikon set the countdown rolling for the launch of their upcoming new Z7 II and Z6 II that was rumored earlier this year to replace their current Z6 and Z7 mirrorless flagships.
Rumored in July, Nikon confirmed the cameras on Tuesday by starting a countdown that will end on the 14th of October. According to Nikon Rumors, Both cameras are expected to have the following specs:
- Dual Card Slots (one CFexpress and one SD)
- Improved AF for face, eye, and animal detection
- Dual EXPEED processors
- A faster max frame rate
- A larger buffer
- 4K/60p video capability
- The ability to take a proper battery grip with buttons for vertical shooting
With the official announcement date drawing closer, it is expected that leaks in form of specs and images of both camera bodies will surface online. The initial Nikon Z6 and Z7 were released in November of 2018 and while both cameras held up spec wise, most shooters laid complains about the cameras having only one SD card slot, a problem Nikon seems to have fixed in the upcoming models.
