Last week, We reported that Nikon was working on two new lenses and now the company has finally unveiled both lenses. The new Z mount 50mm f/1.2 portrait lens and the final member of the f/2.8 trinity, the 14-24mm f/2.8 wide angle lens.
Both lenses are NOCT lenses, meaning they are of superior quality and would perform exceptionally well. The autofocus system of the 50mm f/1.2 is driven by 2 STM motors which means it’s quiet, precise and fast. They both have LED screens to display focusing parameters and other relevant information.
The 14-24mm f/2.8 is the final member of the trinity consisting of the new 14-24mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm, all f/2.8. The lens is Nikon’s entry for Landscape, Travel and Astro photography and it promises premium sharpness, even when it’s wide open. Below are images of both lenses:
While both lenses have been unveiled, they are only available for pre order. The 50mm f/1.2 cost $2,100 and will be available in December of this year (to learn more/preorder, click here) while the 14-24mm f/2.8 costs $2,400 and will be available in late October. You can pre-order it here.
