Nicholas Adatsi discovered his passion and talent for photography in 2012 as an undergraduate student at the University of Cape Coast. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science in 2015. He has been a full-time documentary photographer since then and works with both local and international organizations.
The approach to his personal works is inspired by his environment and everyday people, weaving their stories into compelling images.
Nicholas’ works hold a mirror to society, unearthing developmental issues in Ghana and Africa while contributing to the global conversation through visual storytelling in the field of health, agriculture, economy, environmental activism, education and children’s welfare.
Nick believes there is a place for photography in global development. He is very much involved in community development projects, having been given the opportunity to get into the precious lives of rural folks and be able to tell their stories, some of which have created opportunities for him to further tell their stories with a larger mouthpiece through commissioned works for UNICEF, VSO, BLOOMBERG, PEG Africa and many other organizations.
Having graduated with a B.Sc in Environmental Science with continuous lifelong dedication to photography, he finds pleasure also in indulging and sharing photographs of awesome moments of nature and the need for conservation.
His photographs tell a story of his experiences and the future he envisions. His pursuit of new experiences pushes him to travel around the country to keep documenting people’s lives and their impact on the environment and vice versa.
