The reality of the COVID 19 pandemic is still been felt even though the world seems to be moving on and the latest reminder of this is the decision to host the 2020 PhotoPlus Convention online.
The PhotoPlus convention is essentially about bringing together photographers, filmmakers and brands not only once a year, but all year-round to network, share ideas, have first hand discussions with companies at the fore for image creation and premiere new stuff and this year’s online convention has a new theme; “PhotoPlus+”.
According to Joe Kowalsky, Show Director for PhotoPlus in a statement:
“The photography market has been one of the markets hardest hit by COVID-19, but that hasn’t stopped advancements in technology or important and inspiring work from our community. Now, more than ever, we’ve seen the essential role imagery plays in our lives and the stories we tell. I have no doubt in the strength and resilience of our industry. We will continue to work and find ways to connect visual storytellers with the brands that help them create.”
He also added that PhotoPlus+ is “the beginning of something bigger that can help the industry achieve success 365 days a year.”
PhotoPlus is not the only convention that moved online. Adobe Max Convention and Sony’s Kando have all moved their 2020 conventions online because of the Corona Virus.
