Yesterday, Profoto Global introduced a new modifier that lets photographers adapt the Profoto A series speedlights to other modifiers in the Profoto family, enabling them to create more.
The $300 modifier will allow owners of the Profoto A1, A1X, and A10 (or the Godox V1 and upcoming Yongnuo YN650EX-RF) to adapt their speedlights for use with a fleet of compatible Profoto light modifiers (Reflectors, Beauty Dish, Parabolic/Strip Softboxes, etc.).
The modifier seems to be made of some sort of metal which might be why it’s so expensive (At $300 dollars, you can get 12 S2 bowen adapters, Godox’s equivalent of the Profoto Adapter). According to Profoto; “The OCF Adapter is compatible with all of the company’s OCF light shaping tools, fits with any type of Profoto A-series flash, and has an integrated umbrella mount to allow for full creative flexibility”
Here is a video introducing the new adapter;
