Last week, rumours surfaced that Profoto was planning to release a new flash, and yesterday, Profoto released the latest entry to their A1 portable flash-heads/speedlights in form of the ‘all-new A10′, which essentially is an A1X but with Bluetooth connectivity.
Priced at $1,100 ($1,200 with trigger), the A10 features the same battery, that offers 450 full powered shots, 75 watts at full power, a large rear display, TTL function, and the signature round flash head. The new Bluetooth enabled A10 will be able to sync with your iPhone through the Profoto AirX app and grant you the full power of the A10 (or the B10 strobes, if you own those) and let you shoot at shutter speeds of up to 1/25,000 sec.
According to Profoto CEO Anders Hedebark; “This is a revolutionary innovation. Making professional flash available to smartphones has the potential to be ground-breaking.”
The Profoto A10 is currently available for Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Fujifilm for $1,100 but if you don’t need Bluetooth (or aren’t into smartphone ‘professional flash‘ photography), You can get the A1X for $100 less. Click here to learn more or purchase the A10.
