Reports that have surfaced on Canon Rumors indicate that Canon is not doing away with the EOS M lineup of APS-C mirrorless cameras just yet. Recent reports indicate that the company has two new EOS M cameras in the works, as well as a few new lenses.
Rumored earlier in February by Canon Watch, Canon Rumors has now confirmed that Canon will follow up the release of the full-frame EOS R5 and EOS R6 with two new EOS M cameras: possibly the EOS M50 Mark II and an EOS M5 Mark II. Also, the report states that Canon is working on “more prime lenses for the EOS M mount,” which will also be announced in late 2020 after all the full-frame announcements have been made.
It’s been a long debate whether or not Canon is making the wise decision using different mounts on their full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras but whatever be the case, it seems Canon is not letting go of the M series just yet.
