“The Photography Industry has the potential of being a multi billion naira industry if we’re willing to work and develop it” These were the opening words by Kola Oshalusi at the Business of Photography Conference that held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
Four Panels, Four Masterclasses, Over fifty Photographers, Over five hundreds attendees from all over Nigeria and beyond; the Business of Photography Conference 2018 was a huge success.
With Panel sittings that discussed the evolution of Photography in Nigeria, monetizing your Photography and maintaining the creative process to panel meetings on photography copyright laws.
Present at the conference was Kelechi Amadi-Obi who took a master class in Fashion and Editorial Photography, TY Bello with a Master Class in Portrait Photography, Hakeem Salaam who took a Master Class in Landscape and Architectural Photography and Yetunde Ayeni-Babaeko who taught the final Master Class.
Speaking with Bondze James, an organizer of the BOP conference, he said “The goal is to grow the photography industry and create the bond that will break the ceiling limiting photography in Nigeria”
Speaking with a participant who identified himself as Ogar Monday, a documentary photographer from Calabar, he said “The conference was super enlightening and I can say I leave here a better person and an even more educated photographer.
The Conference is aimed at being a yearly event that’ll gather photographers in Nigeria to sort out ways to better the craft and push the boundaries that limit the industry.
