The Sigma fp full frame mirrorless camera is a small wonder to behold and an even better camera to shoot with and thanks to a new firmware update, the camera will be capable of ProRes RAW video, Blackmagic RAW video, Dual ISO support amongst other things.
Earlier this week, Leica had updated the SL2 and now Sigma is releasing their own update to increase the capabilities of the fp. The updates were teased in March and the announcement of their availability was made over on the Sigma website and below is a list of features made available by the update;
- The ability to record 12-bit 4K ProRes RAW video to an Atomos Ninja V external recorder.
- The ability to record Blackmagic RAW video to a Blackmagic Video Assist 12G
- Support for Dual Base ISO, which can now be set to either 100 or 3200
- The ability to capture stills while recording CinemaDNG RAW video
- The ability to record 1080/120p RAW video in 8-bit and 10-bit CinemaDNG
- The ability to capture and play back cinemagraphs in-camera
- The ability to play back CinemaDNG RAW footage in-camera
- A new HDR movie mode
The Sigma fp is a 24.6 megapixels full frame mirrorless camera that was launched in October, 2019. It currently retails for $1,799 on Amazon (Body only).
