Yesterday, Sigma during a livestream premiered three new full frame prime lenses for the Sony E-Mount and L-Mount cameras. The lenses include a 24mm f/3.5, a 35 f/2 and a 65mm f/2, all costing just under $700.

The earlier announcement has suggested that Sigma was going to announce just one lens but the company surprised viewers with three vintage looking lenses with auto focus capabilities. The lenses are light and compact but feature a premium build.

Below are the specs for each individual lens;

  • Sigma 24mm f/3.5 DG DN Contemporary Lens

The 24mm f/3.5 is an exceptional compact wide-angle prime lens that also offers a 1:2 close-up magnification for macro shots and lovely round bokeh. It features:

  • Optical design: 10 elements in 8 groups (1 SLD, 3 aspherical)
  • Aperture blades: 7 rounded
  • Minimum focus distance: 4.3 in (10.8cm)
  • Macro reproduction ratio: 1:2 (half macro)
  • Filter thread size: 55mm
  • Price: $549

  • Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens

The 35mm f/2 has the signature Sigma glass quality that offers outstanding image quality and bokeh, compact size and is perfect for everyday use. It features:

  • Optical design: 10 elements in 9 groups (1 SLD, 3 aspherical)
  • Aperture blades: 9 rounded
  • Minimum focus distance: 10.6 in (27cm)
  • Macro reproduction ratio: 1:5.7
  • Filter thread size: 58mm
  • Newly-designed arc-type auto/manual focus mode switch
  • Price: $639

  • Sigma 65mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens

The 65mm f/2 offers sharp images when shot wide open with beautiful bokeh, high backlight performance with thorough flare & ghosting control. It features:

  • Optical design: 2 elements in 9 groups (1 SLD, 2 aspherical)
  • Aperture blades: 9 rounded
  • Minimum focus distance: 21.7 in (55cm)
  • Macro reproduction ratio: 1:6.8
  • Filter thread size: 62mm
  • Price: $699

The lenses will be available in Mid January next year. Below is a review video by Photographer and Educator Manny Ortiz.
