In a post made very early this morning on their official Instagram page, Sigma has announced a live virtual product launch scheduled for Thursday, 6th of August where the company is going to present its new line up of third party lenses (amongst other things hopefully) going forward.
Its been an ongoing rumor for the longest time that the company was shifting its focus to the mirrorless market, with a rumor that it had designed new lenses for the Canon RF mount, an 85mm f/1.4 Art lens for mirrorless cameras across the board and their CEO Kazuto Yamaki admitting in a tweet that their newest products would be aimed directly at the mirrorless market.
The Sigma ‘DN’ Art lenses are a favorite amongst photographers across the camera spectrum because of their great optics and superb image quality. The new line up for mirrorless cameras will be called the Sigma ‘DG HSM’ Art lens ( the DSLR line up was called the ‘DG DN’ Art lens) and a leaked screenshot gives us a peek into what the company might launch on Thursday.
Sigma Lenses aren’t loved alone for their premium quality but also because they aren’t as expensive as their main manufacturer counterparts and with August 6th only days away, there’s a host of photographers just waiting to evaluate their options and maybe update their lens collection.
