After teasing and setting off the rumor mill, Sony yesterday officially announced the new entry into the alpha camera line up in form of the ultra compact new Sony a7C (we’re still unsure if the C stands for compact) and right out the box, it packs all the necessary bells and whistles whilst still “keeping in shape”.
Equipped with a 24 megapixel, BSI, CMOS Full Frame sensor that shoot over-sampled 4K/30fps 8 bit video, one SD card slot, a fully articulating touch screen display with an EVF and the crown jewel; a very effective IBIS system capable of 5 stops of shake reduction, the a7C might be small but is definitely a camera that holds its own. The camera can fire 10 frame per second in burst mode and comes with a newly designed 28-60mm f/4-5.6 kit lens that boasts of edge to edge image sharpness.
The camera has dual inputs for mic and headphones, a HDMI port and a USB Type C for in-camera charging and data transfer. Check out the camera below;
The new a7C costs $1,800 (Body only) and $2,100 (Body and Kit lens) and will start shipping in late October. To learn more about the camera, click here. Below is a quick overview by Adorama;
