What is supposed to be the September Tech fest has come in August with DJI dropping their newest action camera less than a week after releasing the newest in the Air series of drones. The new DJI Osmo Action 4 is the latest in line of DJI’s action cameras meant for adventurers who want to capture the thrills and feels of their adventures without worrying about being out of the feel of the moment.
The new Action 4 features improved durability, advanced stabilization, stunning image quality and an incredible low light performance (as far as action cameras go). Armed with a 1/1.3” sensor Which is bigger than that on the Action 3, the Action 4 can shoot 4K footage at 120fps in 10bit D-log for maximum quality retention whilst grading in post-production. The camera is also capable of RAW photos and at an aperture of f/2.8, you’re sure that low light captures will have sufficient light hitting the sensor.
On the stabilization end, the new Action 4 features RockSteady 3.0 Plus and 360° HorizonSteady, so no matter the orientation of the camera, you’re always certain of an even horizon. Even better, it can now record gyroscope data so that you can do the stabilization on your PC. It also features two touch-screens for easy accessibility and control change.
The DJI Osmo Action 4 is available from $330 with the standard combo beginning from $400. You can also procure the Adventure Combo for $500/€530/£470. It comes with two extra batteries, a battery case and a 1.5m/5ft extension rod.
