Mirror photography involves taking creative shots. Sometimes ideas hit us and we feel great about it but later we get numb to how to bring the images in our head to life. One beautiful thing is that mirrors are a part of everyday life, even more so now that most people have a camera with them constantly. However, mirrors can prove challenging when constructing a photograph. In this article, I will explain how you can use framing, angles, and other techniques to create beautiful images with mirrors.

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS

  •  Play with angles. It’s rare that a photo from straight-on  -one that shows your camera/smartphone) will turn out well. Instead, play with different angles to create a more visually interesting image.
  •  Look for reflections all around you – in mirrors, glass, water, and other objects – to create entertaining and intriguing images.
  • There’s a lot you can do with multiple mirrors. You could use exactly the same multiple setup and perspective to take a surreal infinity effect photo.
  • Frame yourself and your subject: Portrait photography tends to focus on those standing in front of the camera. Anyone behind it should be invisible. Mirror photography is an exception to this rule, as you can take photos of both yourself and your model in the mirror.
  • There are lots of exciting outdoor locations that you can enhance with the help of a mirror. You can use it to cover parts of your model’s body, reflect a beautiful location, or even use it to improve your landscape photography skills.
