TIPS TO BECOME A BETTER MACRO PHOTOGRAPHER

  • ENSURE YOU USE THE RIGHT GEAR

Macro photographers should ensure the right gear is used for shooting, especially the use of zoom lenses and telephoto lenses so as to get amazing images.

  • FOLLOW BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY PRINCIPLE

Macro photographers must ensure that they first understand the basic principles of photography such as exposure triangle, composition, framing, lighting, and many more. This is because the knowledge of this would be needed in Macro photography.

  • FOCUS ON YOUR SUBJECT

This genre of photography requires patience especially when it involves framing, and focusing on the subject so, Macro photographers need to focus on their subject then capture.

Contrary to certain beliefs, not everything will make a good macro subject. There are certain subjects that are indiscernible when viewed close up and without context, and if your viewer can’t understand what they’re looking at when they see your macro shot, how can they appreciate it? The aim of every photo is that the viewer can understand even without the aid of the photographer. But of course, this is all a question of preference and aesthetics. If the subject you photographed appears confusing in macro but is still aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, then it definitely qualifies as a suitable subject.
