The Nigeria photography industry is one of the fastest-growing industries globally, and it has produced and still producing amazing photographers over the years. Here are some of our favourite photographers in Nigeria.

 

1.

 

Emmanuel Oyeleke: The tech enthusiast and photographer is at the top of the list, he also doubles as the current Canon ambassador. Emmanuel Oyeleke is one of Nigeria’s best fashion editorial photographers, his bold and beautiful images are characterized by his striking use of colour, light, and angles. His fashion portraitures of men and women are darling and exasperating.

Henry Oji : Popularly known as Big H. Big H is known for his fierce use of the camera in documenting weddings and portraiture. Having come from the corporate world, his dynamic use of the camera and creating beautiful images is alluring.

 

 

3.

George Okoro: An alumni of the New York Institute of photography is one of Nigeria’s best wedding, portrait and event photographer. George Okoro known as an amazing wedding photographer has captured some of the most breathtaking moments in the Nigerian events industry; his determination to go beyond the norm has made him top in the business of photography in Nigeria.

Ahama ibeleme: The Benin born photographer genius with a first and second degree in Geology and geographical system respectively is one of Nigeria’s finest cinematic portraiture photographers. The self-taught photographer started photography as a hobby in the UK during his master’s program, Ahama ibeleme is known for creativity and has made a pathway for other photographers to follow.

Kola Oshalusi: The creative director of Insigna media and the convener of the largest gathering of photographers in West Africa (The Business of Photography Conference). Having left the science and medical field to be one of the most sought after event and fashion runway photographer in Nigeria, his success lies in his continuous pursuit of timeless imagery that constantly evokes thoughts and emotions.

 

6.Bayo Omoboriowo: The amazing creative and alumni of the university of Lagos is one of Nigeria’s best photojournalists and documentary photographers, he also doubles as the official photographer for the president of Nigeria. Bayo is known for the dynamic use of his camera in creating timeless and alluring memories.

 

7Tolani Alli: Popularly known for her hat, Tolani Alli is the official photographer to the vice president of Nigeria. The bold photographer is known for creating creative and timeless memories; one of Nigeria’s finest photojournalists and documentary photographers. She was also the former official photographer of the then late Governor of Oyo State.

 

8.

Seyi body Lawson: The creative director of Body Lawson limited, popularly known for aerial photography amongst others, having been in the business of photography for a while his creative style and professionalism is a strong force and his dynamic use of drone cameras to capture places and events is amazing. He amongst others is a mentor to other young photographers in the photography industry.

 

9.

Steven Tayo:  Stephen started getting recognition as a photographer when he was shooting on an iPhone 5. One of Nigeria’s rising stylist and documentary photographer, who strongly believes in culture and taking memories of events, places, and people. He believes that heritage should be kept and photography is the only one capable of bridging that gap. One thing Stephen is known for is communicating the spirit of the people and places he captures.

 

Victor Adewale: Victor Adewale is a fast-rising documentary photographer, he is mainly interested in using photography to translate his experience into relatable bits. He has worked as a photographer in literary organizations, music establishment,s and most recently with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority as a Documentary Photojournalist.

He is currently freelancing and documenting the daily aesthetics of Lagos, especially as it concerns the relationship between humans and waste management.
