The lens is reported to have extra automated focusing settings, eye and facial autofocus, and animal autofocus. You can as well rapidly switch between manual and automatic focusing modes with an easily accessible MF/AF switch and a newly developed STM stepping motor that offers quick and accurate autofocus performance.
