Imagination has always been humanity’s greatest resource. It is the seed that births culture, the compass that directs innovation, and the energy that powers entire industries. Imagination has always been Africa’s quiet superpower, the thread woven into our folklore, the rhythm guiding our music, the vision behind our fashion, and the resilience shaping our story, culture and lifestyle. In today’s Africa, where creativity is no longer just art but also enterprise the question becomes urgent: Who owns the future of imagination?

The Ideas Mill Africa, in collaboration with the Africa Creative Market (ACM), convened a gathering that challenged creators, thinkers, and industry leaders to reflect on the ownership, power, and responsibility of imagination in shaping Africa’s future, not just as an inspiration, but as an economic, cultural, and political force.

This September, The Ideas Mill Africa, in collaboration with the Africa Creative Market (ACM), will open the floor to that very question in a groundbreaking event titled The Creative Parliament. More than just a panel, it’s a call to action, a space where creators, thinkers, and visionaries gather not only to share ideas but to shape the future of Africa’s imagination economy.

The session would be discussed by some of the continent’s most diverse and influential voices:

  • Clarence Peters, legendary filmmaker and visual storyteller whose work has defined modern African music videos and cinema aesthetics.

  • Seju Alero-Mike, a strategist and creative force with deep insight into how narratives shape markets.

  • ILLBLISS, the rap veteran and entrepreneur who has long used hip-hop as a vessel for social commentary and cultural pride.

  • Kofoworola Eze, an entertainment and media lawyer rising voice in the creative policy and ecosystem-building space.

  • Malik Afegbua, renowned for blending art, AI, and fashion to push boundaries on what is possible when technology meets culture.

This isn’t just another event; it’s a gathering for anyone who believes in the power of ideas. If you’re a creative professional, filmmaker, musician, writer, artist, or designer this is where you’ll hear firsthand how to protect and amplify your imagination in a global market. If you’re an entrepreneur or policymaker, you’ll gain insight into how creativity fuels economies and why owning imagination is central to Africa’s development story. The Creative Parliament promises an unforgettable experience that will leave you inspired, challenged, and ready to see Africa and yourself in a whole new light.
