With a resolve not to make duplicate lenses anymore, Yongnuo has announced an original 35mm f/2 lens for full frame Sony E-Mount cameras, complete with autofocus.
Like all Sony first party lenses, the upcoming 35mm comes with a function button that can be customized to fit various functions. The lens is largely plastic (like most Yongnuo lenses) and features a digital control stepping motor (DCM) that allows for faster and more accurate focusing, compared to tradition focusing motors. According to Yongnuo ” Using a DCM enables for high focusing accuracy, and quieter focusing action, which is suitable for photo shooting and video recording.”
The lens features features 9 lenses in 8 groups, a nano-multilayer coating to reduce ghosting and flare, one aspheric lens to reduce aberrations, a low dispersion lens, and a 7-bladed aperture. It also has metal bayonet mounts and gold-plated contacts that allow the lens to transmit autofocus, aperture control, and EXIF data to the camera. Finally, the lens includes a USB-C port that is likely for future firmware updates.
