Long Time no Opinions on here…
So Artificial Intelligence (Super Intelligence if we follow Pres. Trump’s instructions on what to call it… LOL) is taking over the entire world irrespective of whether we like it or not and while we’re not at SkyNet level problems yet, there’s warning signs that A.I will completely change the way we work and build photography tools going forward as has been recently made evident by the folks at Art Craft.
For context, We all know Adobe has held the creative industry in its palms for well over two decades. The Adobe suite of apps cater to very sector of the creative industry; Photoshop and Lightroom for Photographer, Premiere Pro and After Effect for Filmmakers, Indesign for Designers, Audition for Music and Audio people and then there’s a bunch of other apps that they run that I honestly have never looked into because what’s the point but recently, the folks at Art Craft released their suite of apps that I’m presuming was vibe coded and they just might give Adobe a run for their money (we’d know in the long run).

The apps are currently free and the entire setup can be downloaded from the Art Craft website here, there’s currently 12 apps that cater to everything from photo to video to 3d design, sound editing and even writing. The codes for the apps are also open sourced so anyone can access them and help improve them (something that I feel will be great and will foster fast improvements, being that so many people are tired of paying Adobe’s subscription).
The apps are still fairly new so chances are they might be bug but a free software that’s essentially a photoshop clone and can work with PSD files is one that should be watched closely (which probably is why its been making waves lately). If you’d like to explore an extensive breakdown, the folks at FStoppers did a side by side analysis of Photoshop and Photocraft, you can watch that here.
