Landscape photography is quite different from other genres of photography where you can not control what happens but rather you have to search for compelling images that tell your story. there are cases where you find beautiful landscape images but some of the elements are very distracting, in such cases you can’t take away those disturbing elements which allow you to find better landscape images.
I have come to realize that as a photographer you need to develop “Photographic Eyes” which allow you to see great composition, framing, and moments. These elements are what make one a great photographer because, at first sight, they attract people to your story and automatically give them more reasons why your images are worth their money and time.
While checking out videos on youtube I came across this amazing video by Andrew Marr. He shared some powerful and insightful tips for finding better landscape images. Andrew Marr talked about how one can turn their attention to every single element which provides more details to the audience rather than using a wide-angle lens to capture the entire frame. On the other hand, using a longer focal length to pick out individual elements can make for stronger, more direct, and more compelling photos. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Marr.
If you keep practicing your landscape photography and training your eyes you will be marveled at how easy it will become to tell great stories on landscape photos.
