After several leaks and rumors, Canon has officially confirmed its virtual launch date for the highly anticipated EOS R5 and it’s baby brother, the EOS R6 for Thursday, 9th of July 2020.
The announcement came in yesterday on the Canon USA website. Expected at the launch would be Canon Ambassador and YouTube Educator Peter McKinnon alongside other photographers like Lindsay Adler, Sal Cincotta, Tyler Stableford, Vanessa Joy, Roberto Valenzuela, Joel Grimes and Rick Sammon.
Expected to launch at the event include;
- Canon EOS R5
- Canon EOS R6
- Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM
- Canon RF 100-500mm f/4-7.1L IS USM
- Canon RF 600mm f/11
- Canon RF 800mm f/11
- Canon RF 1.4x Teleconverter
- Canon RF 2x Teleconverter
- RF Battery Grip
With a couple days to the launch, fingers are crossed, legs are tapping and fidget spinners are spinning as we wait on what Canon Germany described as “our largest product launch to date”.
