Duties Of a Cinematographer
A cinematographer is a photographer who operates and oversees the operations of a camera when making films. Some of their duties and responsibilities are:
- Create a visual style for the film: A cinematographer determines the visual style and approach of the film. They determine what concept to use depending on the kind of film and story being told.
- Establishes the camera setup for every shot: A cinematographer decides which types of cameras, camera lenses etc. best brings the scene to life. With the help of the script supervisor and every other material necessary, they design the most effective way to create and tell the story.
- Explores the potential of every location: A good cinematographer understands what visuals excite the director and can make recommendations about what shots to capture.
