  • Shooting in JPEG:  There are no rules that say that you must shoot on RAW, but there are a few advantages to shooting on RAW. When you shoot in JPEG, your camera automatically applies presets for white balance, sharpening, saturation, and contrast. It also compresses your image into a smaller file While RAW on the other hand preserves the image and allows more details to be seen from the highlight. Shooting in RAW yields more high-quality pictures.
  • Using Wrong White Balance: Most young photographers don’t understand the importance of white balance and its function. Using a wrong white balance can affect the quality of your picture. To understand more about white balance read our previous article on white balance  (Photography 101: White Balance – Business Of Photography)
  • Not Understanding The Basics: It is important that photographers know the function and how to use the exposure triangle (ISO, shutter speed, Aperture), composition, lighting, etc. When you don’t understand these basics as a  photographer your picture will lack quality and you will struggle to create beautiful images.
