When learning a craft or something new, mistakes are bound to happen and it is your duty as a photographer to know these errors and mistakes to get better at the craft. Here are some common errors photographers make.
  • NOT UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS OF PHOTOGRAPHY: Asides from just striking the shutter, photographers must understand the basics of photography; ranging from exposure triangle, camera composition, lighting, etc. Understanding this would help prevent the common errors photographers make.
  • BUYING A LOT OF GEARS: Photographers need to understand that buying a lot of gears does not necessarily make you a good photographer. To be good at what you do, you must be familiar with the gear you use before going to purchase other gears. What is more important is understanding creativity, technical knowledge, and a good knowledge of lighting, positioning, and many other things.
  • POOR FOCUS: Relying on autofocus as a photographer is not the best way to shoot because most times, the camera gets it wrong, hence, it is best to know how to properly focus your subject or images to prevent getting distorted images.
  • BLURRED IMAGES: This can be a result of a lot of things such as the wrong holding of the camera, wrong focus point, etc. One of the ways to correct blurry images is by setting or increasing ISO sensitivity and using a faster shutter speed.
  • OVER EDITING: Post-production especially editing of images should be subtle not overshadowing the images, so it is important to understand the basics and principles of post-production. For example, increasing the saturation for a portrait image would not really do well unlike doing the same on a landscape image.
