It’s been just over two weeks since DJi released the new and improved Mini 2, their latest addition to the mini-series of drones (the entire idea behind these drones is that they weigh just under 250 grams and as such pilots don’t have to register to fly them).
The Mini 2 came with a couple of new features in the same lightweight body (the mini 2 weighs exacts 249 grams, same as the original Mini) including:
- Improved Motors that offer faster flying and greater wind resistance
- An improved flying time (exactly one extra minute)
- RAW Photography
- 4K/30fps 10 bit video
- Ocusync 2.0 for better connectivity of longer distances
All of these come at a price of $459 ($799 for the fly more kit), $50 more than the original Mavic Mini but the value is well worth it depending on whether you want to use the drone for professional use. If you’re coming in as an aerial enthusiast, then all the updates on the Mini 2 wouldn’t really mean much plus, an understanding of post-production means you can push the capabilities of the original Mini to achieve stunning results.
